Children from the local school wave to Prairie View Trail Riders passing through Waller County Texas during their 67 annual Prairie View Trail Riders Association (PVTRA) during rtheir 100 mile journey from Hemstead,TX to Houston for the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in Houston TX from February 27 to March 17. The PVTRA was founded in 1957 and thier purpose is to promote agricultural interest in young Americans and to perpetuate those principles and methods which have come to be regarded as the ideals and traditions of the Western World as well as the black Western Heritage. It serves as a booster for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and supports Prairie View A&M University in their educational programs.
