NEW YORK, NEW YORK: A demonstrator carries a cage over barricades during a Black Lives Matter Abolish ICE (Immigration customs and enforcement) demonstration at 26 federal plaza in New York, New York on Sunday, September 27, The demonstrators protested against ICE”s horrific treatment of immigrant parents, According to the ACLU there are no regulations or enforceable standards regarding detention conditions, including medical treatment, mental health care, religious services, transfers, and access to telephones, free legal services, and library materials. In addition to the lack of regulations, Immigrants are routinely abused, silenced, traumatized, and even killed by the U.S. immigration detention system.
